Hearts

The week before Valentine's Day we had a special FHE about how we can show love like Jesus.
The kiddos went on a scavenger hunt learning about the life of their Savior and his perfect example of love.
They were completely enthralled with each story, photo, and scripture.
The last stop of the hunt was our garage door where we hung a poster of Christ. Daddy read John 13:34-35
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
We then gave them a challenge for the next week leading up to Valentines Day to show little acts of love to other members in our family and for each act we would tape up a heart on our door surrounding Christ's picture.
The kids were definitely on board and we got to work the next week.

I would say it was quite the success!
Some of my favorite hearts read....

"gigi showed love by not bugging us!"-Lu
"I showed love by not hitting."-Ru
"Daddy showed love by doing the dishes for mommy"
"Gigi showed love by giving kisses"
"Lulu showed love by making her bed for mommy"

The kids loved the door so much that we kept the hearts up for a month.
(it was as long as i could handle it)
They continued to fill the door and to this day, The Rockstar asks for a heart anytime he does a kind deed.
Ha! Hopefully, he won't always expect a reward.

Happy Hearts = Happy Home

what an awesome idea. Think I'll use it for next year if you don't mind :)

I'll take more info on the hunt if you're willing to share. Just maybe what stories you shared and did you tell them in your own words? Thanks.
